According to Sriram Gopalswamy, Vice President of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) at Sabre Bengaluru, the company’s GCC in Bengaluru has played a vital role in shaping Sabre’s global product portfolio. “A significant share of product leadership resides in our Bengaluru GCC”, Gopalswamy said in an interview with The Hindu BusinessLine.
The Bengaluru GCC has been instrumental in driving impactful work across areas such as digital innovation, GenAI, and AI-infused retailing solutions. Sabre’s team in Bengaluru has also made significant contributions to the company’s SRE capabilities, strengthening its overall product strategy and delivery capabilities.
Looking ahead, Sabre India plans to focus on building impactful products in the airline IT space, advancing its capabilities in GenAI, AI/ML, and deploying these technologies at scale across its products. The company also aims to modernize its mainframe offload and reshape its core tech stack into more flexible cloud-based systems.
Gopalswamy described the current moment in travel tech as a “hockey-stick moment”, where the opportunity for innovation is massive and untapped. “At Sabre, we believe this is our hockey-stick moment. From AI-powered personalization to modernizing existing infrastructure, we have both the vision and the talent pool to fundamentally change how people experience travel”, he said.
The Bengaluru GCC has undergone significant evolution over the years, expanding its expertise in cloud and AI/ML. The company has developed a strong talent base in these areas and has built a pipeline of young talent through its internship programs.
