Bengaluru has been named among the top 12 global tech powerhouses in a report by real estate consulting firm CBRE, alongside leading markets like Beijing, London, and San Francisco Bay Area. The city has also been recognized as having the largest tech talent market in the Asia-Pacific region, alongside Beijing and Shanghai, with its tech workforce exceeding 1 million.
The CBRE report, "Global Tech Talent Guidebook 2025," evaluated 115 markets based on the availability, quality, and cost of tech talent. Bengaluru's emergence as a global tech powerhouse is driven by its strong talent pool, favourable business regulations, and the presence of leading educational institutions and Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
GCCs have played a significant role in Bengaluru's growth, contributing to a steady pipeline of skilled talent and anchoring high-value functions in AI, data science, engineering, and product development. The city's start-up ecosystem, supported by 28 unicorns, has also benefited from the presence of GCCs.
"Bengaluru's emergence as a global tech powerhouse reflects India's strategic depth in digital innovation, AI, and talent readiness," said Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & CEO-India, South-East Asia, Middle East & Africa, CBRE.
The report highlights Bengaluru's blend of cost competitiveness, deep talent pool, and long-term growth potential as key factors attracting global investors and tech majors. Other Indian cities, including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur, are also emerging as high-potential tech markets, contributing to India's diversified and resilient tech ecosystem.
